What is the grinding process?

Grinding or honing is the process that removes the surface layer of concrete leaving the aggregate exposed to a smooth, matt, low maintenance finish.
Grinding marks will often be visible resulting in the need for the use of progressively finer grinding pads.   Depending on the aggregate and level of grinding the concrete, a polished finish or high lustre is able to be achieved by this process.

What does exposure mean?

Exposure is the amount of aggregate (rock, quartz, pebble etc) that is able to be seen as a result of the grinding process.

What do you recommend not to use for cleaning a concrete floor?

Do not use any Bleach Based or Citrus Based Cleaners on a concrete floor.

What do you recommend to clean the floor with?

We use and recommend "Tough Green" Cleaner which is a neutral ph product. Available from Grinding Tools Australia

What exactly is a warehouse finish and can it be used in a home?

The warehouse finish is typically used for any pre-existing or "old" slab.

Is there much dust when you polish a slab? Do the neighbours need to be warned?

Our machine has a Dustless Vacuum System. Dust is kept to a bare minimum.

How long does it take to polish a concrete slab?

This depends on a number of factors, firstly how big the job is, how accessible the site is, and what finish you have selected. i.e. CCC Polished  Concrete or Grind and Seal.
