CCC Polished Concrete FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about CCC Polished Concrete.

At what stage should we polish?

About a week to 10 days after the slab is poured.

Is all standard concrete the same?

No, the aggregate varies depending on whether it is, for example, white pebble or granite based. There are also different qualities. A visit to our showroom will show you the differences.

Can i have my polished floor repaired i’ve just had it done and it was a bad job?

Yes – unfortunately we spend a lot of time repairing bad workmanship performed by less experienced operators!

Where can I see polished concrete?

CCC Polished Concrete’s Showroom features over 50 surfaces across 500sqm or just look around you on your travels to houses, cafes, offices, supermarkets, shopping centres etc. See our floor showroom video here.

Does polished concrete save on lighting costs?

Mitre 10 estimates that their highly polished floors save 80% of their lighting bill because of their light reflection.

What is grouting?

All concrete naturally has holes that can also be heightened in the grinding process. Not all floors require grouting. It is the client’s decision as to which “look” they desire and if a smoother look is required, grouting takes place to even up the floor.

Why do I need a sealer?

Concrete is porous so unless a sealer, be it acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy or GTA hardener is used then the natural porosity will be susceptible to staining and scratching.
