CCC Polished Concrete FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about CCC Polished Concrete.

Should I add retarding agents to the concrete mix?

Do NOT add any retarding agents to a concrete mix that is going to be ground and sealed or polished. Retarding agents WILL affect the seal and may react badly with the polishing process. Simply apply a light sprinkle of water to the slab as required.

Can CCC polish a concrete shower base recess?

Yes we can however there are several technical issues that will need to be addressed between the concreter, plumber and water proofing professional. There are also some serious longevity issues that may occur. Please contact us for more info.

The pricing of a polished concrete finish is comparable to the pricing for a tiled floor.

Can I have my timber and carpet floors level with the concrete?

Yes - most definitely with new slabs. Levels are another important reason for us to communicate with your concreter.

Can you polish our concrete stairs?

Yes, but it can be expensive and a lot depends on how well the steps have been formed. If it is not too late contact us before your concrete is poured. "Call before you pour". If you stairs are already in place contact us and we can advise further.

When is it the best time to speak to my polisher?

We prefer to be contacted as early as possible as we like to stay in constant contact during construction, guiding and overseeing the concreters – so “call before you pour”.
